Where has the time gone? It's March! We're so much closer to summer break than I thought! Anyways, this Quebec judge refused to listen to this muslim woman's side of the story because she refused to take off her hijab. Apparently, religious garments are "not suitable for a court proceeding". How? Going to a court in a bikini would be not suitable. That would be very inappropriate but I'm not going to get in to the whole half naked thing. The hijab isn't going to harm you. Nor would a kippa. Nor would a cross. I say if it's not inappropriate or harming you, it's fine. The woman was in court because her son was driving with a suspended license. They took her car away. She was there simply to request to have it back. The judge told her it was either take off your head scarf or go home. Quite an easy decision to me. I would never allow myself to be ordered around like that. When I wear the hijab, it will become part of me. Let's make a different scenario. I really do not mean to offend anyone with this scenario. A tan person is in court and the judge refuses to listen to them because of their race. Is that fair? No! Their skin is part of them. They cannot change that. Same with women wearing hijabs. Once a woman is wearing a hijab, it is a part of her. She enjoys having it on her because she believes that by sticking to her religion, she will go to Heaven. People saying to close the borders to immigrants and that she is not a true Canadian, nobody is. Everyone living in Canada had ancestors who immigrated from Europe. The only true Canadians I know of are the people who were already in Canada before the Europeans came. And if people want to rid Canada of immigrants, I think I'd like to leave by choice. Real Canadians are accepting of different cultures, religions and races. You don't have to like my opinion. You just have to hear it and open your mind to different points of views. My family came from Egypt. They wanted to give my siblings and I our best chance. They wanted us to get a proper education. They wanted us to be safe. Now that people aren't accepting of us, we aren't safe. Ever heard of the Chapel Hill shooting? The murderer wasn't accepting of Islam and look what happened to them. They're gone. If you're not happy with immigrants, don't show it. Keep your feelings in. Bottle them up because if they come out, there will be consequences. Maybe if you keep them bottled up, they'll change. If they change to the better, let them go. If they change to the worse, keep them in.
